Ford announced at the beginning of 2018 that they are committed to electric cars and are investing $11 billion to bring 40 electrified vehicles to market by 2022. Jim Farley, president of Ford global markets, said this during a presentation at the Detroit auto show in January. That’s up from the $4.5 billion that Ford said in late 2015 it would invest through the end of the decade.
Executive Chairman Bill Ford also told reporters in Detroit, “This $11 billion you’re seeing, that means we’re all in now.”
This commitment by 2022 will give customer the option of purchasing a gas engine, hybrid engine or electric operated vehicle on most Ford makes and models. Planning for this progressive market also means that Zarowny Ford owners have access to our new electric charging station located on the west side of our showroom.
