Pothole Season is Back

Spring’s warm weather brings trips to the greenhouse and to home improvement stores but be aware that with each trip you will be forced to navigate countless potholes and broken pavement revealed by the warmer weather.

Streets in St. Paul are, thankfully, much more manageable for town maintenance to repair (although the road to the recycling center is always a nightmare). Edmonton, on the other hand, has one of Canada’s top pothole problems. In fact, the Edmonton Journal has gone so far as to have an online map for users to report and photograph potholes. In 2015, The Weather Network asked viewers to submit pothole stories and photos.   You can go online and see the entries from Edmonton residents.

Spring potholes take a toll on our vehicles, leading to problems with suspensions, alignments and tires. In response to these issues, Ford has developed technology that can sense and then skip over potholes. Ford’s Fusion V6 Sport is the first vehicle to use this technology.
